Stunning vintage late 1950’s skirt suit by Jack Feit for Robinson’s. Jack Feit was a New York manufacturer of high quality ladies suits, and every one I’ve found had a fur collar. This suit is fashioned from black boucle wool with a plaid pattern in the weave. The jacket is the oversized style made popular by Balenciaga. It features a black sheared beaver fur collar which is removeable for cleaning by clipping the stitches and then resewing once cleaned. The jacket closes at the front with large plastic buttons and bound buttonholes. There is a self-fabric bow at the top of the button placket and faux pocket flaps at the waist.
The straight skirt has a set-on waistband and side metal zipper. Both pieces are completely lined in black silky rayon.
