Exquisite vintage late 1950’s or very early 60’s formal evening coat, likely custom made for the owner by Henri Bendel. This full length coat is fashioned from vivid emerald green silk satin that is lightly padded with cotton batting. It is completely lined in peacock blue silk crepe and was probably worn over a green and blue brocade evening gown. This coat is an oversized style with deep cut armholes. It closes with one large self-fabric button and bound buttonhole at the front neckline and there are vertical slit pockets in the side seams.
